Chris Reading is a London-based writer and director of feature films, known for his work in comedy across stylised genres. Most recently, he wrote and directed Time Travel Is Dangerous, which received a wide UK cinema release in 2025. The film won multiple awards at international Film Festivals and garnered critical success: with four stars in the Guardian and making New York Times' sci-fi picks. In 2019, working with Twentieth Century Fox, Chris wrote and directed ALIEN: Containment, released to mark the 40th anniversary of ALIEN (1979). He has written and directed TV comedy in the UK and US including Wild After Dark, a sketch show for Nat Geo Wild. Chris is currently developing film projects with a focus on comedy, fantasy, and science fiction. A BAFTA member, Chris is represented by 3Arts Entertainment.
